The true story of a black man's struggle
The Whistling Wind documents the life and times of an ordinary single black man driven by government monetary policy, from the philosophy survival of the fittest and the ideology the capitalist system endorses. Unable to find consistent work, I fell on the wrong side of the law to be released from prison a changed man. Due to constant financial stress, I became mentally ill, then I was diagnosed with bipolar affected disorder, who is a high functioning philosopher.
I don’t consider myself a writer, I don’t normally read, and before the explosion of social media, I very rarely wrote a word. So, when I woke up one morning in 2009 with my laptop in my hand thinking, I wanted to write.
I learnt more about myself through my writing, and my mental health problems that helped me come to terms with my lifelong condition. It comes as a total surprise to write words that rhyme and flow. I’m compelled to tell my story and the events around my life that make me, me. In a secular society, some do not understand or perceive they’re on a spiritual journey of becoming aware there is more to understand than the self-preservation the capitalist system promotes. At the end of this novel, I hope you can understand the message that is conveyed in The Whistling Wind.

Preface
Just after the Second World War, there was an influx of migrants to the United Kingdom in 1948, known as the Windrush Generation. Since I was educated during a period when an education policy to dumb down ethnic minorities was implemented by the British government until the mid-eighties. When I started drafting this book in 2009, I’ve had to unlearn everything I have learnt, and use what I see as writing therapy to re-educate myself.
This book doesn’t just underline institutional racism across all public offices and private sectors, in a society that should be equal. It also proves the economic exploitation of the labour force, how love can be cruel, when it should be kind, and along with my mental health condition, how I have used the artform of writing to overcome and understand my mental health problems.
I’ve never taken an interest in the written word, I’m compelled to tell my story after a mental awakening, and the fact I never read, the content of this book may not be of a high standard in writing technique or conveyed in a conventional manner, it also tends to slip back and forward in my lifetime. This novel was not conceived for entertainment purposes, but tells the tales from some fictitious events and fact-based stories within my life that could be beneficial to anyone reading the content.
Although this book involves the criminal world, it conveys a message for spiritual education and my sincere words of love for humanity. As the author, I’m not looking to make a profit, but to voice what I consider to be balanced opinions and confront controversial issues society rarely discusses.
After being brought up by a single parent, serving a prison sentence, and not leading a model lifestyle. I believe my experiences as a young man, ex-offender, and a single parent can give others a positive insight on their own spiritual journey.
The title of this book, The Whistling Wind is a symbolic representation of an entity that is everywhere and nowhere, but it is within your mind.
Weird can be wonderful, mysterious and magical. The word conveys all levels of emotion. In this remarkable book, The Whistling Wind, the author, John T. Hope, takes the reader on a trip to the underbelly of today’s society and the ugly underworld in gripping poetic prose.
Born in the United Kingdom out of the Windrush generation, John T. Hope is an ordinary, hardworking single-back man writing a true story of romance in the midst of racism, unemployment, and the
economic exploitation of so many ethnic minorities in the workplace. Stemming out of an impoverished background with a poor education, he confronts many unlucky turns of events on his life’s journey and then ends up in prison. Upon his release, he’s undeterred by the problems he encounters.
Striving to survive, he writes to articulate why life is so hard in modern society and asks why we can’t all live together as equals.
OMNI'S Wordsmith Mantra

OMNI’S Wordsmith Mantra is a powerful, thought-provoking, emotionally engaging, and spiritually uplifting book that may even change your life.
Using writing for self-therapy, vivid poetic prose reveals the mindset of a bipolar sufferer questioning religious dogma, political deceit and economic policies.
Inspired by our Lord Jesus Christ, the author starts the theme with his visionary interpretation of creationism.
This remarkable book takes a trip back into history to understand where inequality stems from and contains poems which express unique personal feelings about
the concept of love that can educate tomorrow’s people for a brighter future. The author’s writing style clearly explains what is occurring in the mind of the mentally aware and how mathematics can be translated into natural aw.
The novel illustrates how Nature’s complex natural order is affected by economic forecasts. After a challenging discussion, the author concludes with practical and
cost-effective ideas to make the Earth a better environment for the majority of people who are born without equality, wealth, and status.

Preface
After spending some time in prison and experiencing a great deal of financial stress as a self-employed carpenter after my release then bringing up a young boy as a single parent and facing unemployment from time to time, it came as a big and thrilling disbelief for me to wake up one lovely spring morning twelve years ago wanting to write. It was a particularly big surprise as I wasn’t hitherto known for doing anything in the way of reading, let alone writing.
The title of the book uses the word ‘Omni’ to mean ‘of all things,’ which is a way of summarising the many subject matters in this book, from one-to-one love to the psychology of humanity concerning the holy books and the search to find heaven here on earth. The book also tries to embrace and express God’s love for humanity. ‘Wordsmith’ is used in the title to punctuate the poetic prose constructed in this book and ‘Mantra’ represents the repetition of the message the book conveys, freeing the resources for free will to love freely.
